Testing the Authorization Service

Testing the Authorization Service

The Datahub Authorization Service can be tested against the Datahub CERT02 and VEN02 environments.

After the version 2.6 update, the Authorization Service can be tested against the CERT01 and VEN01 environments.

Notes for testing

  • One test environment is available for the Authorization Service. The Datahub test environment to be used when testing is chosen on the Authorization Service homepage:

  • Access to the Authorization Service test environment is IP-limited.

  • When testing, the personal and business ID numbers from the Suomi.fi test material service sent to testing parties must be used.

  • At the Suomi.fi authentication stage, choose “Test user”:

Starting testing

To start testing, take the following steps:

  1. Register your willingness to take part in Authorization Service testing by submitting a ticket to the Datahub support service. Choose the “Testing and test environments” ticket category. The ticket should be given the subject “Authorization Service testing”.
The ticket must include the following information:

    1. Which Datahub test environments you are going to use in the test (select the environments on the ticket form)

    2. Planned testing period

    3. IP addresses of users logging onto Authorization Service for firewall opening purposes

    4. (Optional) A URL in accordance with use case 2 to return users to the correct address at the end of the authorization process.

Below is a screenshot of a ticket form completed with sample information.

Your organization should be prepared to wait for ticket processing to take around one week before testing can begin.

  2. When your ticket is processed, you will receive the Suomi.fi test material personal and business ID numbers (as well as a personal ID number granting the right to act on the company’s behalf) to be used in testing.

  3. Create the required data in the Datahub test environment on the Datahub test and certification service (Tepa) Structures page under ‘Create sales agreement for accounting point’. When creating an electricity contract, select the appropriate customer type (residential or business customer) and tick ‘Enter customer data (Note: only synthetic test data is permitted)’, allowing you to define the customer’s details yourself during contract creation.

  4. You can start testing once you have received confirmation from Fingrid Datahub that the IP addresses have been enabled. At this stage, you will also get information on the ticket about the test service address.

Questions during testing

If you have questions about testing and using the Authorization Service during testing, please submit a new ticket to the support service. You can create a ticket in the Testing and Test Environments category using the same metadata as in the ticket for starting testing, as described above, and enter your questions in the free-text description field.

Known issues and upcoming fixes

  • The UI will still undergo final refinements, including the ‘authorizations by electricity location’ listing and mobile optimization.
