Customer portal/End-user interface

Customer portal/End-user interface

Datahub offers a user interface for end customers, the Oma Datahub Customer portal, where customers can view the information registered on them in Datahub. The customer portal lets consumers access metering data for their accounting points, agreement information and other data. The customer sees this information regardless of the DSO responsible for the area the accounting points are situated in or who the supplier is. In addition, customers can check which companies they have awarded an authorization, for which data, and for which time period. Customers can also modify their authorizations. If a customer grants new authorizations or ends existing ones, Datahub informs the parties involved about the changes. The customer can also end an existing non-disclosure. The non-disclosure process for customer information is described in DH-110 Maintenance of customer information.

Suomi.fi, launched in 2017, is a nationwide information and service portal for all Finnish citizens. Datahub’s customer portal is accessed through this service. Suomi.fi gives citizens a centralized view of the data held on them in various registers and services. Using suomi.fi, citizens can authorize other citizens to act on their behalf, and companies can authorize persons to access company data. A customer can use both inter-personal and person-to-company authorizations when using the Datahub customer portal. The Digital and Population Data Services Agency is responsible for suomi.fi.

The process described below shows how a customer is given access to the service provided by Datahub and subsequently to the customer-specific information contained in Datahub.

Customers’ access to their own information

A customer can access personal information as follows:

  1. The customer visits suomi.fi in an internet browser.

  2. The customer identifies themselves with a strong authentication method (for example online banking codes or a mobile certificate).

  3. The suomi.fi service provides the identification.

  4. The customer logs in to Datahub’s customer portal without additional identification. When logging in, the customer can choose whether to view either their own or another customer’s information (if the customer has a valid authorization to access someone else’s information).
